July 19, 2026 • 2 hours

Session Organizer

Dr. Ashutosh Kedar

Senior Member IEEE, Fellow IETE, Life Fellow WAMSS, Life Member ACES, Member AMTA
Sc – ‘G’, Electronics & Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), DRDO, MOD Project Director

Topics:

Phased array antennas represent one of the most advanced and rapidly evolving technologies in modern electromagnetics, with significant impact across radar, wireless communications, electronic warfare, and space systems. The state-of-the-art trends are driven by the need for higher performance, flexibility, and integration. The state-of-the-art in phased array technology is moving toward highly integrated, intelligent, multi-functional, and cost-effective systems. These advancements are essential to meet the demands of next-generation radar, 6G communications, autonomous systems, and space applications. The talk is going to cover the basics of phased arrays and cover trends and technologies pertaining to Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESA), Wideband and Multi-Function Operation, Millimeter-Wave and Terahertz Arrays, Digital and Hybrid Beamforming, Sparse and Aperiodic Arrays, Advanced Materials and Packaging, AI/ML Integration, Conformal and Flexible Arrays, Calibration and Mutual Coupling Mitigation and Software-Defined and Reconfigurable Systems. The key topics covered in this talk include Core Principles, Hardware Innovations, Industry Applications and Emerging Technologies.
